Wesfarmers? Will they bring back the word ‘SERVICE’ to the industry?

Bunnings have it, most small business operators have it, American’s definately have it… SERVICE… a word which disappeared from the dictionary of the big shopping centres, years ago.
Will Wesfarmers provide SERVICE in an industry which is mainly about sales and profit for shareholders?

they cant do WORSE than Coles does now. Bunnings is great on service but very poor on quality…….we call it the crazy clints of hardware……..great price…….breaks in 5 min
Service & Bunnings….hmmmmm not sure those 2 words always go together.
I think some of the reasons that service has dissappeared is that profits at any cost is the main concern of most big business and the fact that most areas are monopolized by a few. Customers are treated like dumb sucker sheep and staff are treated like a disposable items, easily replaced.
Perhaps we should be talking with our dollars as well as our mouths. If a store can’t provide excellent customer service and treat their staff as items of value, go else where. Better to pay a few more dollars to the right operators than continue to support rubbish. The other option is to complain, to the stores themselves, to Head Offices, to consumer affairs, to your local pollie. Let people know about your crap experiences and what places to avoid.
We as consumers have a great deal of power, we need to recognise this and use it.
Yes Viv Bunnings is not good enough yet but they have improved, I think the problem lyse in the lower to middle management area these people are so pressured to perform budget wise they can’t spend time looking after staff and customers, its short term thinking.
